Shipping

We take great care in preparing and delivering each order. Because many of our pieces are custom-made, one-of-a-kind, or require specialized handling, shipping timelines and methods vary by item type.

Please review the details below prior to purchase.

Order Processing

  • In-stock small items typically ship within 3–7 business days.
  • Custom furniture and made-to-order items will ship according to the lead time indicated on the product page.
  • One-of-a-kind antiques and large furniture pieces require handling coordination and may take additional time to prepare and ship.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information (if applicable).

Shipping Methods

Esme only ships to the Continental United States. We ship via UPS and uShip White Glove In-Home Delivery, depending on the size and nature of the item.

UPS Shipping (Small & Parcel Items)

Used for:

  • Decorative objects
  • Lighting
  • Small furnishings

Select in-stock items

What to expect:

  • Tracking information will be provided once your order ships.
  • Delivery occurs curbside or to your building’s designated package area.
  • Signature may be required for higher-value items.

Please inspect your package upon delivery. If there is visible damage to the exterior, photograph it before opening.

uShip White Glove In-Home Delivery (Furniture & Oversized Items)

Used for:

  • Large furniture
  • Custom upholstered pieces
  • Antiques
  • Oversized or fragile items requiring special handling

This service includes:

  • In-home delivery
  • Placement in the room of your choice
  • Light assembly (if applicable) (???)
  • Removal of packaging materials (???)

Communication & Tracking

We will notify you:

  1. When an estimated shipping date has been scheduled
  2. When the item has been picked up from our facility
  3. When the item is expected to arrive at your home

A delivery window will be coordinated directly with you by Galerie Esme and the carrier. Please ensure someone 18 years or older is present to receive and inspect the item at delivery.

Delivery Requirements & Access

It is the customer’s responsibility to:

  • Ensure the item will fit through doorways, stairwells, elevators, and hallways
  • Confirm building delivery policies (COAs, service elevators, insurance requirements, etc.)
  • Provide accurate contact and delivery information

Additional fees resulting from failed delivery attempts, storage, redelivery, or special access requirements may be the responsibility of the customer.

Inspecting Your Delivery

All furniture and large items must be inspected at the time of delivery.

If damage is present:

  • Note the damage on the delivery receipt
  • Take clear photographs
  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery

Failure to document damage at delivery may limit our ability to file a claim with the carrier.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout or quoted separately for oversized items. White Glove delivery fees vary based on distance, size, and handling requirements.

For trade or multi-item orders, please contact us directly for a custom shipping quote.

Delays & Transit Times

While we work closely with our carriers, transit times are estimates and may be affected by weather, holidays, or carrier delays.

We are not responsible for delays once an item has left our facility, but we will assist in tracking and communication whenever possible.

Returns & Refunds

We take great care in sourcing, designing, and producing every piece we offer. Because many of our items are custom-made or one-of-a-kind, our return policy reflects the nature of our collection.

Please review carefully before purchasing.

Furniture, Custom Pieces & One-of-a-Kind Items

All furniture — including custom furniture ordered through our online configurator, made-to-order upholstery, case goods, and trade-only vendor pieces — is final sale.

All antiques, vintage pieces and one-of-a-kind items are final sale.

These pieces are made or sourced specifically for you and cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded.

We encourage clients to carefully review dimensions, materials, and specifications before purchasing. If you have questions prior to ordering, we are happy to assist.

In-Stock Decorative & Lifestyle Items

Select in-stock, non-custom accessories may be returned for store credit only.

To be eligible:

  • Return requests must be made within 7 days of delivery
  • Items must be unused and in original condition
  • Items must be returned in original packaging
  • Proof of purchase is required

Shipping costs are non-refundable. Return shipping is the responsibility of the client.

Once the item is received and inspected, store credit will be issued within 3-5 business days via email.

Damage & Claims

All orders should be inspected immediately upon delivery.

For Freight / Furniture Deliveries:

  • Any visible damage must be noted on the delivery paperwork at time of receipt.
  • Photos of damage and packaging must be taken before the carrier leaves.
  • Damage claims must be submitted within 48 hours of delivery.

For Parcel Shipments:

  • Damage must be reported within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Please email photographs of:
  • The damaged item
  • The packaging (interior and exterior)
  • The shipping label

Failure to report damage within the required timeframe may result in denial of the claim.

If damage is verified, we will coordinate repair, replacement (if possible), or resolution at our discretion.

Order Cancellations

Custom and furniture orders cannot be canceled once production has begun or once an order has been placed with the vendor.

If a cancellation request is submitted within 24 hours of purchase and production has not begun, approval will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Refused Deliveries

Refusing a shipment does not constitute a return. Any refused freight shipments may incur return shipping, storage, and restocking fees, which will be deducted from any eligible refund (if applicable).

Pricing & Availability

Because many of our pieces are sourced from trade partners and antique markets, availability and lead times are subject to change. We reserve the right to adjust pricing or cancel orders due to vendor discontinuation or pricing errors.

Eligibility

Methods of Payment

All purchases must be paid in full at the time of sale. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Shop Pay for all orders placed online. By submitting an order, you authorize Galerie Esme to charge the credit card or payment method provided at checkout.

Pricing & Availability

All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice. We make every effort to ensure that product descriptions and pricing are accurate; however, errors may occur. In the event of a pricing error, we reserve the right to cancel or adjust the affected order and will notify you promptly.

Many items offered through the Site are one-of-a-kind vintage or antique pieces and cannot be replicated or reordered. Availability is not guaranteed until purchase is complete.

Sales Tax

Applicable sales tax will be calculated and applied at checkout based on your delivery address. Tax rates are determined by current state and local requirements and are subject to change.

Order Confirmation

After placing an order, you will receive a confirmation email to the address provided at checkout. This confirmation acknowledges receipt of your order but does not constitute acceptance. Galerie Esme reserves the right to decline or cancel any order at its discretion.

Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of purchase. After 24 hours, cancellations are considered on a case-by-case basis. Custom or special-order items are final sale once placed and cannot be cancelled.

Condition of Items

Vintage and antique pieces are sold in their existing condition. Minor wear, patina, and age-related characteristics are inherent to these items and are not considered defects. We make every effort to accurately represent each piece through product photography and written descriptions; however, slight variations in color and texture may occur due to screen settings and natural material variation. Please contact us prior to purchase if you have specific questions about condition.

Will It Fit

Customers are responsible for confirming that any furniture ordered will fit through all doorways, hallways, stairwells, and elevators prior to purchase. Galerie Esme does not cancel or accept returns on furniture orders due to sizing or access issues and bears no responsibility for determining whether an item will fit in a given space.

Intellectual Property

All content on this Site, including photography, copy, logos, and design, is the property of Galerie Esme and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without express written permission.

Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites and encourage you to review their terms and policies independently. Once you leave our Site, you are no longer governed by these Terms & Conditions.
